The earliest record available of rugby being played in Peebles was of a game in 1877 in Kingsmeadows Park. Peebles Rugby Football Club was formed in 1879, ceased to exist about 1900 but was re-constituted in 1923. Now, we run two and occasionally three senior teams, and have a thriving colts and youth section. Strong links have been forged with all schools in the area through our Club Development Officer.
The 1sts play in Premier 2 and the oldest league in the world, the Radio Borders Border League. The 2nds play in Reserve League East 1 and the Colts in the Border Semi Junior league.
The club concentrates on developing local based players. There are strong local family connections throughout the club.
